ONU Students Give of their Time and Talents
To Minister to Children and Bring Hope in Ghana
I am so pleased to send you the reports from what the students and their professors from ONU did here in Ghana Midland district. Though they faced many challenges in getting to Kumasi, they have truly encouraged the church and revived the people.

The team visited two schools here in Kumasi and books were distributed to all the students and their teachers. These books were donated by Christian Literature for Africa (CLA) and had been stored in Accra until the opportunity came to give them out to children. The schools officials asked if we can come back every year since the team has helped them both physically and spiritually.

From Kumasi we headed on to Gyedu church on the third day and we again visited three schools there and distributed more books to the schools and had games with the church at Gyedu and the community football players. The church here is now well know through the efforts of the ONU team. After the games at Gyedu, we had a church service where many people attended and about five of the team members shared the word of God. Then one of the professors, JIM used a word of encouragement which has greatly awakened the Gyedu church.
We headed on to Akumadan church the following day where we had the greatest number of both children of about 250 or more and we couldn’t control them. Many have been added to the church there as I visited the following Sunday and other Christians have been revived through this team .

The team members were so friendly and taught us songs like ''we are one people despite our different colors.” On the last Sunday one of the women preached at Akumadan church and talked on the ''Unity of the Church''; we are one people with different colors as the body has different parts and we all need to work together to make the body function well. People were amazed on how she explained that from 1 Cor. 12:31.

They brought some children's clothing which have been shared among all the seven churches pastors and some members. For the new churches almost all of them got something, and from that all the churches have been encouraged.
The team visited the Ashanti Kingdom's palace, the Kumasi Central market as well as the KNUST, the University here in Kumasi before returning to Accra and onward back to the USA.
Please give them our thanks. They are loved and we will never forget them.
