The development of the center has begun and is progressing.  The first building under construction is the Worship Center.  We have begun the foundation and are raising a metal structure truss system.  The first team will help complete this structure by completing the wall and pour a flooring into the building.

This structure will remain an open worship center with 3 secure rooms for storage and for a caretaker to have a room to stay in.  The first team should complete this structure in early 2010.  We pray that other teams will help us finish this and begin the training building that is so key to the development of the center.

A trip to Liberia will be one of the greatest experiences of your life.
Arriving just outside the capital city of Monrovia you will take a 45 minute taxi drive into the main city.
There we have several nice guest houses to host a team.  Flights from the US will cost about $1,600 and the visa will be about $150 USD and can be obtained from the Liberia embassy in Washington, DC.  Ground cost on the average will be around $50 per day per person.

A rented bus will take you each day to the site for work.  The team will have a complete kitchen to prepare meals and a nice place to fellowship right on the beach at the SIM guest house.
You will love the Liberian Nazarenes you come in contact with on this trip.

Ministry opportunities abound, especially for Children’s ministries, youth programs, and even Jesus Film outreach.  Your team can be as involved as they want to be while still working on the projects.
We believe God has placed a special hand of protection on our people who have survived 14 years of civil war.  Getting to know them and their stories will be a highlight of the trip.

Center Location:

Monrovia, Liberia

The land for district center in Monrovia is on the main highway leading out of town.  Today the ground is just a field of weeds and bushes but we see a future center for training, camps, and retreats.

This year we broke ground on a metal construction worship center.  We hope to continue development with a water well, housing for students and classrooms for our pastoral training.

Construction will require approximately $50,000 USD for completion.  We hope to have five Work and Witness teams each bringing $10,000 to help complete this important facility.  For more information please contact Tim Eby in the Africa West Field office at: teby@awfcon.org
