January 2011-02-20 Ministry Reports
by Rev. Samual Lama
Had a wonderful five day Stone Clearing Bible Story telling workshops with Pastors JALLOH and LOGAN of Sierra Leone in the four centers of the Liberia Central District; The teaching helped hundreds of lay, pastors, elders and congregations who have gathered in their respective zone centers.
Each of the session was always climaxed with a Spirit-filled HOLINESS REVIVAL led by Pastor Vidal O. V. Cole-This was indeed timely, as we prepare for our first Assembly and contemplating on the theme; Rekindling the passion for Biblical Holiness, Pastor Cole anointed messages ignited the passions of the thirsty and hungry saints and brought many to their knees. We are very grateful to Rev. Martin and the AWFteam under the inspired leadership of Rev. Mark LOUW; we pray that the team will come back to Liberia Central for at least two weeks.
Just as the team left, we commenced the activities of our first assembly beginning with NYI, SSM , and NMI workshops from the 21-24 of January. 2011. The main business of the Assembly was held in Karnplay on the 25 of January 2011 with Rev. Daniel JOHNSON, Liberia Ministries Coordinator and Area Coordinator, AWF, Sierra Leone and Liberia, chairing.
Completed orientation class in the Sanniquellie Zone. Re planted Saclepea church. We praise God for what He is doing on the Central District in Liberia.

December 2009 Ministry Report
Our God is good and faithful always! He alone is all-powerful and ready to show His kindness to save sinners souls.
In this report, I would give you a highlight of what the Lord is doing in Liberia, Central District. We are pleased to report ministry activities that took place during the month of December 2009 as follow:
CHURCH PLANT:
In response to the teaching and /or challenge of church multiplication movement which required each church to plant a plant; the Vayenglay Church of Nazarene planted two churches and the Bayleglay Church of the Nazarene planted one church. In total three churches were planted in the Vayenglay Zone, Nimba County, central Liberia.
YOUTH MINISTRY:
The Lord has opened doors for Karnplay Church of the Nazarene in central Liberia, to evangelize youth through the HIV/AIDS Ministry. The church has reached 1,000 young people in 12 schools {both public and private} in Nimba County.
RADIO MINISTRY:
The Radio Ministry- “What the Bible Says” of the Karnplay Church of the Nazarene is now an important tool of evangelism, revival and sound biblical teaching. Many listeners of the radio program- What the Bible Says have testified that the program is a blessing to them and their congregations. Some who have accepted Christ by listening to this program referred to it as “The LIGHT SHINING in the DARKNESS”. Praise the Lord that sinners can see the savior through the Karnplay Radio Ministry.
A TESTIMONY FROM PASTOR TEE T. LATAHN:
For the past 8 years I have been teaching the Bible at the Karnplay Public school. This has enabled me to witness to hundreds of children in the community from various backgrounds – Muslim, Christian and pagan. This was not just an opportunity of sharing God’s truth but also building health relationship with the children.
Unfortunately, the school has a new principal. This man is a from a different faith. He is the Iman of the Karnplay Central mosque. When this new principal took over the school administration his first plan was to stop the teaching of the Bible in the school. But with prayer and fasting with the pastoral fellowship in Karnplay; the Lord averted the principal’s plan. With the County Education Office intervention the principal was removed and replaced.
Thank God that the newly assigned principal is a Christian.

Liberia South East
We have created zones to have leaders that help administrate these areas. We are in three out of the six counties in our area. Some churches in the Ivory Coast from before the war are still operating and trying to connect with our district.
Last year there were 55 churches and we have added eight new churches. There have been six churches organized during this time. We have a goal to raise up 250 churches and leaders by 2013.
There is a challenge to start a new district in a county where nine churches developing and will expand the churches. We are also working to expand the auxiliaries. The NMI are collecting as zone coordinators once a month to pray for the start of new churches and to remind churches about their call to raise support for our OWE. The challenge has been made for each member to contribute $1 USD for missions and so far we have raised $120 for the OWE.
We have a new focus on Sunday School teachers so that the zones can have training on how to use the materials. There has been an increase in churches using their material in the church.
The women’s ministries have been active in compassionate ministry and have organized their local groups to be involved in the community in taking care of women having children and also having AIDS training in the communities and the churches.
The NTI classes have been developing but have only taught three classes. There has been conflict with the harvest season. So they are now changing the plan to only give courses during the seasons that are free to the workers.
Liberia Monrovia
We have now split this district with Sam Lama now serving as DS. The district has four zones with leaders working well in each area. The pastor’s and wives had a conference that was well attended.
Because of the radio programs the Church of the Nazarene is becoming known as the holiness church and people are searching to open churches in their villages
In the western Liberia has many Muslims but this past year with the help of the Jesus Film teams and local pastors three new churches have been developed in that area.
Update Mar 2009:
Rev. Tim Eby

Both districts have purchased district property and are ready to develop the centers for pastoral training and district development projects. The Monrovia district planted 6 new churches this past year and has voted to move to a Phase 3 district. This maturity is a direct result of leadership development and a sense of ownership of the local Nazarene churches.
