Words from the Field Strategy Coordinator

I have often been asked, "How can we help?" The following are some ways:

 

1. Pray for field and all the ministries represented there.

2. Visit our website at www.awfcon.org for at least monthly updates on prayer requests and project needs

3. Sign up for or plan a work team to the Africa West Field

4. Volunteer some of your time to come teach leadership and pastoral education courses here in West Africa

5. Pray about contributing financially to the needs of this healthy growing church in West Africa through the Africa West Field Partnership account which is an approved tax deductible entity. (Sponsor a pastors education, purchase a laptop for a Field leader, purchase books for the libraries at our district training centers, construct zone training centers, put roofs on buildings, purchase bicycles and motorcycles for pastors, etc. There are many more opportunities that can be found on the approved 10 Percent giving list on the Field and denominational website).

6. Invite us to speak at your church during one of our annual summer Home Assignments. Besides speaking about missions, we would also be willing to teach and share at retreats or any missional events on philosophy, strategy, team building and leadership development, etc.

7. Plan on attending the Friends of West Africa luncheon at the General Assembly. During this time we will formally launch the Africa West Field Partnership and share with all in attendance our dream and vision for the next quadrennium. More information will follow regarding the date, venue and cost.

8. Tell a friend about the exciting things happening on the Africa West Field and encourage them to visit our website and to engage in dialogue with me regarding potential participation in the ministry on the Field.

 

For your information, the Africa West Field of the Church of the Nazarene provides oversight to 19 nations and approximately 1/3 of Africa's population. Of this number of people, close to 70% are Muslim. Please pray for us as we launch OPERATION HOPE WEST AFRICA to see the message of HOPE brought to those who are seeking but not finding.

 

Thanks for your continued prayers and interest in the work of this Field that I am blessed to lead. May God grant us much wisdom and grace as we remember that the face of the one before us is always more important than any task we might have to do.
